Aaltra is so subtile. At the beginning it's pretty uncomfortable, but as the movie goes on you start to appreciate it's subtilty. It can even crack you up from time to time. ... A very creative film.

Although a little slow at the beginning, this movie was pretty funny from time to time. I just think they could have done a lot more with it (I need more jokes dammit).

Two bickering neighbors -- played very well by the co-writers/directors -- get crushed by a tractor/harvester (brand-name "Aaltra", hence the title) while fighting, and they both lose the use of their legs. They wind up on a kind of road trip together, and bond over their mutual ability to be utter bastards. It's pretty funny although there is quite a bit of unnecessary downtime that doesn't enhance the mood or anything. Nice black & white photography. Nothing earth-shattering, but fun.

A comedy as black as it gets, exceeding heavily the limits of political corectness - tastlessness with taste.

perfect dry comedy, without dialog, only based on situations.

Wonderfully perverse dark comedy with crisp black-&-white cinematography beautifully mirroring the lack of sentiment. Bad taste and snarky fun. Highly recommended.

Two cripples in wheelchairs travel across Europe to Finland to sue a harvester manufacturer that caused both of them to lose their legs. It's a pretty surreal and funny comedy, has a little Kaurismäki aura hanging around it. I like it a lot.

"This is comedy of the 'none more black' variety - possibly too black to maintain interest."

"Grim, bleak, misanthropic, confronting and uproariously funny from beginning to end."
