The director to Mujde Ar; "if you indulge in the material luxuries of a careless capitalist life and forget your leftist aspirations, you will be punished with the agonies of conservative middle-class life. If you can convince us that you are the right actress to play a lefty epic theatre piece, you will be forgiven and granted entry to your previous life." Not sure if it questions or reproduces the rift between middle-class conservatism and intellectuals' cluelessness to address that very rift.
