Hands down best Bond opening credit song , Naked silhouettes skiing down mountains of cocaine with neon booby streamers. A great final outing for Moore but James Bond shouldn’t look like he smells of Werther’s Original.

The intro firmly establishes how "eighties" this is going to be, and thankfully it's mainly apparent in that characteristic wholesome/naïve disposition I remember so well in the movies from that decade. Actually, with a picture perfect Barbie girl for the love interest (diametrically opposed to Grace Jones in every way, except their equally limited acting abilities) and a enjoyably maniacal baddie (cue Walken weirdness), this is basically Bond for kids. I liked it. And the score is damn good.

Oh hey childhood nostalgia! I love this ridiculous, 80s-tastic flick and have little interest what others think of the matter. Max Zorin and May Day are a boss combo, love the Zorin estate espionage and final Golden Gate Bridge fight, and old or not, Roger Moore is still having fun and still has the twinkle in his eye. John Barry's score is terrific, and that title song - the best of the series! The screechy Bond girl is the only major weak link for me. (Ytadel's series ranking: #16 of 24)

Besides the opening title sequence, which is the worst of the series (not surprising considering Duran Duran is one of the shittiest bands of all time), it's the best Moore Bond film. Walken as the villain is amazing and everything you can hope for in these types of films, the girl is gorgeous and Grace Jones as the henchman works nicely and even has a Jaws-esque twist.

It's the dullest, and that's saying something. It's the most bloated, and that's -really- saying something. And it's the worst, which takes the cake at the 2014 Saying Something awards. Everything in this movie is agonizingly slow, and every actor is old. It's like watching the elongated process of death onscreen. Grace Jones being in this movie must have been the result of someone losing a bet. Good God. This might honestly be the worst movie to prominently feature the Golden Gate Bridge.

Apparently Max Zorin speaks five languages, all with a Brooklyn accent. By the midpoint I found myself torn; who do I want dead more, Tanya Roberts or Roger Moore? By the end I decided: Tanya Roberts, Roger Moore, the writers, the director, the key grips, foley, my uncle Chuck, my fourth grade English teacher, etc...pretty much everyone except Patrick McNee. In closing...stealth blimp! Huh?

Probably the best Moore Bond film, even if he was well past his sell-by date. It tones down the excessive cheeseball slapstick of previous films and creates an interesting (for the time) premise coupled with Walken's fantastic turn as a villain. Combined with Jones' iconic role, all the Bond traditions, and a killer theme tune at least Moore went out on a high note.

This was one of my childhood favourite Bonds. And surprise surprise - it still is. Walken and Jones are amazing villains, Roberts are gorgeous, the score is great and the title song is deservedly the biggest Bond hit. The set pieces are also awesome, with the ski scene and the Golden Gate climax as the highlights. To add to the greatness you also witness Dolph Lundgren's screen debut if you pay attention.

After the underwhelming "Octopussy", John Glen offers another great Bond movie - Moore's last as 007 - and one thing is certain: the actor is going out on a very high note. The edge of your seat is where you'll spend most of this super-tight film's running time. Christopher Walken is one of the finest villains of the franchise and for once we also get a suitably understated yet convincing romance, not to mention the load of spectacular, clever, well-directed action sequences. Top-notch stuff.

You can really tell that John Barry came back for this film, because this is probably the last Bond film with a truly great score. Add to that Christopher Walken, who plays an exceptional villain, and despite the moments of cheese and obvious aging of Roger Moore, this is still a great movie. Mostly the score, though, especially during the golden gate bridge fight, where it reaches one of the peaks for the whole series' history.

UNDERRATED. Despite a giant plothole (there's no reason for Bond to not have Zorin arrested an hour in), it seems like the filmmakers have embraced the fact that all will be forgiven as long as the action scenes work. And boy do they. Knowing they can't always outdo the past, they wisely put their impressive stuntwork into settings we haven't seen before (the Eiffel Tower, a horse race, a fire truck, & a spectacular climax at the Golden Gate Bridge). Walken & Jones make great villains of course.

Grandpa Bond slowly crawls to each set piece, as the over two-hour runtime feels much longer. Grace Jones is wonderful in her time on screen. Christopher Walken doesn't really get into Walken mode. The film could have been saved by more shots of Moore getting hit in the dick, which is a great visual gag, but the film only had one dick shot. That's a woeful lack of dick shots.

So Christopher Walken and Grace Jones are awesome as the villains, which pretty much saves the whole thing from being straight-up BAD. It's kind of like a less actively annoying version of The Man With the Golden Gun. Roger Moore is obviously too old for the role, there are some horribly slapsticky moments (the police car chase being the most outrageous offender), and Tanya Roberts is straight-up awful and deserved the Razzie she was nominated for. Shades of Kate Capshaw in Temple of Doom. Augh.

A View to a Kill isn't a great film, but it is a helluva lot better than I thought it would be based on my PSI and things I've read about it. Wouldn't make my top 5 for the series, but it isn't anywhere near the bottom. Walken helps. Tanya Roberts is kind of an annoying Bond girl though. The title theme and score are some of the best in the series IMO.

A View to a Kill marked the end of the unforgettable Roger Moore era. But throughout his seven films, he had aged dramatically and this was definitely time to call it a day. Christopher Walken & Grace Jones are both great Bond villains and they add the star quality that the series recently lacked. A View to a Kill is an understated film by Bond standards, but it proves that less is more, it has strong characters and the Eiffel Tower & Golden Gate Bridge set pieces are impressive and enjoyable.

This movies suffers from the exact same problem that the Man With The Golden Gun had; it has an excentric and interesting villainous combo in Zorin and May Day but is held back by an absolutely ridiculous film. Moore, besides being excruciatingly old, hams it up to a level not before seen, Tanya Roberts being absolutely clueless and useless, there is just so much wrong going on everywhere. I am really glad ol' Roger ditched after this because I don't think I could take another one of these.

Perhaps the weakest Bond of all. It has its moments--the car chase through San Francisco comes to mind--but the story is dull, the heroine is dull, the villain is dull (Christopher Walken gets a few fun tics in, but it's not enough)...it's a drab, if not incompetent, whole. Roger Moore is okay in his last appearance in the series, Jean Rougerie has an amusingly broad bit part as a French detective named Aubergine, while Duran Duran's theme song remains the most enjoyable component by far.

I'm a Bond fan and I'm a Duran Duran fan, so that's where all the points for this film are going. Otherwise, it's overly long and kinda dumb -- Moore is super effeminate as Bond, Grace Jones has the sex appeal of the East German swim team, and Walken as the villain is not scary or threatening at all. If you don't totally love Bond or Duran Duran, I suggest you stay away.

A bit of an odd bird in the series, but at once, what you got is well polished. The different sets and locations and neat and prim, and while they lack in the wild exoticism one often sees in Bond movies, they still have variety. It's hard not to comment on Moore's age in this and how it reflects on the character, but he seems to have given it more energy than he did in Octopussy. Mayday and Zorin are delectable, hammy but oh so fun. It's an almost humble but still decent end to an era

Everything felt slightly off with this one, as if they wanted to emulate the winning formula of the previous entries but the execution was lacking. Far less campy than its predecessors and the stunt work wasn’t as impressive as I had hoped. Sometimes, those elements - from Bond’s quips, to the villain, Bond girls or even locations - don’t mesh together as well as they should and that’s fine as the Moore entries were easily some of the most enjoyable in the entire franchise.

Moore is getting on a bit, noticeably during his fight scenes, but is still involved (or at least his stunt double is) in plenty of climbing, running & flirting.
