A Tree in Tanjung Malim

Every setting in the film felt familiar and the adhan at the end was a dream come true.

A girl on the eve of her 18th birthday runs into an older friend (she calls him "uncle" at that point, but I think it was meant as a joke). They hang out, wander around, sing some songs, and ultimately find a little kernel of truth. The message is a bit trite, but it's admirably offset with a self-referential jibe. The way I'm describing probably sounds like the miserable "mumblecore" movement, but it's not that annoying. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's a lovely little piece.
