A Lawless Street

This is a really solid western from genre craftsman Joseph H. Lewis. It's sleek and to the point and has some really standout sequences like the unbelievably brutal brawl between Scott and Megowan. Lewis is better known for some amazing, low budget noirs, and though shot in colour, this film has a couple of scenes that make amazing use of dark and shadow. Angela Lansbury has a key role as Scott's secret wife who doesn't think she can stay with him as long as he's a lawman.

This was a fun and entertaining western that was a nice way to pass the time.The action and story were pretty decent.

An effective low-budget Western. Randolph Scott and Angela Lansbury are both very good in this.
