A Girl of the Limberlost

One of the most successful poverty row films of the 1930s as little Monogram interpret Gene Stratton-Porter's novel 'A Girl of the Limberlost' making over a million at the box office, almost 15 times it's production costs. Exactly why is difficult to see. It's a pretty flat production as one would expect from the small companies. Got decent and recognizable actors for the parts, but otherwise this is rather unremarkable and wooden. Only barely becoming watchable in it's unoriginal approach.
