Admittedly, if I stumble on a film about port workers forming a union it's hard to feel inspired to watch it (I've had some luck with these turns out). I was quite keen to see the Shinoda film penned by Terayama, and it's the script I think we have to thank for the intense, broiling emotional content. Political, but crucially grounded in a milieu that feels personal and affecting. Great Takemitsu score.
