The first Andy Hardy film, and it isn't about Andy Hardy! The main character was the judge/father in the series. Here portrayed by Lionel Barrymore. And it is a typical Barrymore film. He takes up all the space in his clever ways with the rest of the characters being just a minor backdrop in his scheme. A decent family affair even if there are no real high points to this film. But you get an insight to the family alright. Mickey Rooney continued the series for 15 more films.

The film that launched the other ~15 movies of the Andy Hardy series. Most of the plot centered around Lionel Barrymore as the Judge rather than Andy Hardy since the character didn't take hold of film audiences for another few years. Overall, this film is fairly fun, but the series only gets better!

The first of the Andy Hardy movies. This one focused on the father, Judge Hardy. There are some good lines, and it captures small town life during the 1930s.
