I was perpetually let down and disappointed in the telling of what turns out to be a ridiculous story. From the moment Edward claimed his former self has committed suicide it was all down hill. Of course there wasn't much climbing the hill to begin with. There was a kernel of a story here, but the details were unrolled in a very unconvincing and unrewarding way. I can't recommend it.

Very funny and went in great unexpected directions. Loved the performances, especially Reinsve and Pearson although while writing this I learned the original Edward was just Stan under makeup and damn!!!!

Watchable, but didactic and pretty lazy storytelling. The movie just does nothing to explain what drives its characters, chiefly Edward in his weird decision to be dishonest with everyone about his miraculous remediation.

I was really enjoying it, but it lost me a tad during the third act. It's an interesting exploration of Edward's psyche, albeit not as profound or thought-provoking as it could've been. It's nicely shot.

This movie amplifies social comparison theory and cognitive dissonance to new heights.

I would have bet i was watching the recognizable, disfigured Pearson in the first half, but it turns out to be all Sebastian Stan. What a sick actor! Extremely good! Rapidly rising to being one of the discoveries of the year for me.

I've been enjoying seeing Charlie Kaufman's influence balloon outwards in recent years and this is a really effective psychological comedy about ego, self-image and the limits of art's ability to reflect the self. Stan is terrific (he's having quite a year; this film also works, weirdly enough, as an absurdist mirror of The Apprentice), and Pearson as well, completely upending every expectation you may have of where this film is going.

Much as I wanted to like it, I just didn't really end up caring for it. The basic premise is pretty straightforward, but is elongated to a point of frustration and absurdity, and leaves some pretty big holes in the script.

I have some gripes about the screenplay (it’s a touch heavy-handed at times, and Reinsve’s character is a tad underserved), but this is mostly a very effective dark comedy. As ever, actors are not normal people and should be regarded with caution and suspicion.

Good performances, but while trying to explore its themes, I don't think it did a good job actually getting the audience to invest. Afterwards I was sitting there going, "Yeah, that was okay." Not even much to say about it.
