A Constant Forge

The focus here is on the man itself and the way he influenced people. His family, friends and work-related people are praising him and his craft through the entire 3.5h. Not thatthat wasn't pleasant to hear butIwas hoping for something more. Such an artist and beautiful person deserves the very best. This wasn't it. Still, it was a true delight to sit and listen to the many, many stories about Cassavetes.

This documentary confirmed what I already believed which is that Cassavetes made movie for the actors not for the audience. I found this documentary to be over long and somewhat boring just like how I feel when I watch a John Cassavetes film.

John Cassavetes is the coolest guy ever.

I didn't think I'd make it through a 200-minute documentary about Cassavetes, but the time flew rather quickly. A nice tribute.

O imenso John Cassavetes estaria completando 90 anos hoje e só meu diretor americano favorito (e o mais gato também) para me fazer enfrentar um mega-documentário de 3 horas e meia sobre ele e vale cada minuto, acho que nunca vi um documentário que dissecasse tão completamente um cineasta como esse.
