I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out. Actually, I don't remember, and therein lies the problem: completely forgettable and expendable drama.

Much better than Erin Brockavich on all levels. Masterful cinematography and a stark, chilling final act.

As a lawyer, I know this kind of crap would never happen in real life.

Vincent Vega/Danny Zuko as a lawyer is just not working for me.

Earnest legal drama that admirably eschews the notion of justice triumphant but nevertheless is not above borrowing most of the other tropes of the genre. A cast of character actors help, but the personal drama at the heart of the narrative is only sketchily drawn, and the whole thing becomes increasingly ponderous.

Better than I was expecting, much less predictable than most legal dramas. Unfortunately the sound was muffled and many of the actors mumble their lines so I had to have subtitles on the whole time. But overall not a bad film.

Talented supporting cast is mostly wasted because you rarely get to see them. Familiar story (it's kinda sad unto itself that this story happens so often that it is that familiar) is ho hum but it still works thanks to Duvall and Travolta.

A competent and sometimes engaging, albeit unexceptional, legal thriller. I hate the Powerpoint-slideshow style ending, though - show, don't tell, damn it.

Meh, had to watch it for a class. Could've been worse. Really shitty editing, though.

An absorbing film about environmental law that has the audacity to actually talk about money. Travolta is good and has a great supporting cast.

"Well-acted and well-intentioned, but as dull and dry as a real-life court case."

Pretty humdrum legal drama. Supporting cast is generally excellent but Travolta kinda just phones this one in. I actually watched this in a hydrogeology class in college (I didn't go to a very good college) and spent most of the movie doing groundwater flow problems instead.

Watched this in a high school government class and don't really remember anything about it, other than it was boring but was better than what else we were doing in the class.

A bit overacted, but a good effort by Travolta and all others involved.

One of those rare movies whose main weak point is its star. Travolta is convincing as a mercenary lawyer, but his Saul-to-Paul conversion doesn't convince for a second. Despite that, the supporting cast is so good and the story itself gets into so many not-often-discussed aspects of legal work that this is a good movie
