A Bread Factory, Part Two

Not as good, the comedy is almost completely gone, which was clearly deliberate, but it verges on morose at times. This is the tone that I was expecting going into the first one, but the comedic prelude makes it easier to swallow, so I didn’t find it a slog. I even teared up a little at the end. Still, it’s hard to shake a sense of wasted potential. The first part felt full of incident and tension; this one felt almost plotless

Making the first half well worthwhile: charming and invigorating celebration of the arts requires the viewer to indulge some fanciful digressions (the team of dancers could be seen as too twee) but to lock in to Wang's tone, and the laudable message being conveyed, is well worth the time; while occasionally more distant than it needs to be, it has a much greater emotional kick than Part 1, especially spotlighting Daly and Henry's relationship - their final walk and talk has a great punchline!
