Remake of a German movie which was inspired by Mädchen in Uniform. And mixing it's European roots with it's Hollywood precode nature, you have a interesting movie. It's selling point is clearly the selection of freshly squeezed sexy women collected stateside for the swimsuit scenes, but it also has a morally fine melodrama. Dorothy Wilson is good as the innocent girl, but Kay Johnson is the iron lady of this and really the one which provokes emotion with her strict, warmhearted lesbian way.
