Look at the poster. Whatever you feel now would be the summary of your emotions if you were to watch the movie. I just saved you an hour and a half.

I really appreciated this one. No forced drama, fantasy plots or surprise twists. Apart from security cam footage from the airport and cabin, everything takes place in the cockpit of an A319, which is a realistic one for once. No epic ending or hero stuff. Just a brutal plane hijacking of which you know it can only end in a few ugly ways. No soundtrack. Only the familiar sound of engines, long periods of banging on the cockpit door and other background noises of terror in the cabin. Well done.

It is a fine watch but the Muslim terrorist gig is a bit outdated.. Levitt though is in it.. I mean as his character, he went full send.. Obviously he is in it..

Sure, it's an unusual approach to the plot, but it didn't work for me. You'd expect to see motives, and maybe higher stakes, but these seem to be squashed or proven dubious early into the movie. One is left with almost nothing but door banging and screaming, in the end

Simple and intense thriller. Another great performance by Joseph Gordon Levitt.

I like its to-the-bones, unpolished, docu-esque, no-score, unemotional approach to terrorist thriller, focusing the entire action in the cockpit and through the eyes of a pilot who just can't compromise more what is already a risky, unnerving experience. Too bad the pace just feels weird and clunky, and the second half feels way longer than it needs to.

I tend to enjoy films where someone is trapped in one location, so this had that going for it. It also has a tense atmosphere, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Everything before the plot starts is pretty slow, and the ending drags a bit before giving a relatively anticlimactic and predictable conclusion. I enjoyed it for what it was, although I think it would’ve been more interesting if a certain character lived just a bit longer, as they really didn’t get to do anything of value.

Really surprisingly entertaining plane hijack movie that despite 100% of it happening in the cockpit, will not get boring. + for no music or other cinematic manipulation

Aside from some tired stereotypes, I was pleasantly surprised by this film. Some shots, like the film's chilling opening, reminded me of Adam Rifkin's hidden gem 'Look' as they're told entirely through the perspective of surveillance cameras, and I liked how its docudrama approach didn't resort to cheap cinematographic tricks to convey the intensity of the situation, oftentimes relying on a single lens to tell its story effectively. Glad I didn't judge this movie by its poster.

An excellent performance by Gordon-Levitt elevates an otherwise fairly straightforward thriller.

Suspense is a solid 9/10. Story is a 5/10. JGL's performance is a 9/10. Nothing very novel. The story itself is unexceptional, the dialog is predictable, but it passes the time pretty well.

Impressively realistic, but the realism does nothing good for the entertainment.

Who thought it was a good decision to have someone banging on the cockpit door for the first 45 minutes of the movie? Excruciatingly annoying. There's some positives to take away from this movie - the bare bones style, the lack of emotional manipulation - but overall it falls flat. The pacing is atrocious, and there are so many directorial decision that just serve to frustrate. Probably not worth your time.

Someone had the (not entirely bad) idea to make an airplane thriller which is filmed only from inside of the cockpit. Then someone managed to get Joseph Gordon-Levitt interested in starring in a German language film. And at that point everybody stopped to put any more effort into this movie. Gordon-Levitt does his absolute minimum. The script is terribly bad and predictable. The plot is fearmongering. This is why nobody wants to see German movies.
