5 Dead on the Crimson Canvas

Homage or parody? You be the judge. Super low budget. Depending on your feeling about Gialli, your mileage with this film will vary. The poorly looped soundtrack was the worst part of this and that's saying something.

It's Dario Argento, Long Island-style, and Glen Cove auteur Parda and crew do a fair job approximating a vintage D.A. chiller. Abetted by Jerry Djerassi's evocative score (with a further assist from Beethoven, whose "Sonata in C-minor, op. 13, Pathetique" Djerassi performs). Parda manages to keep his hommage involving despite some rough edges and uneven acting.
