Bordered on loving this thing, but it just takes too long to get going. Just too much blah blah before we even get a hint of what’s going on in the story. Once it gets going though I loved the dynamic between the three leads and the beautiful deluxe color (the purples in this at night time are gorgeous) are almost Sirkian. A goofy little gem.

Lansing was fine--nice and low-key--but that other guy should've been revolving on a spit at some luau. Oh yeah, and it was fun seeing Patty Duke when she was still a fetus.

This one really only had the special effects going for it, and they were underused. Very long setup in the beginning. Still fairly entertaining.

Slow at first, and corny all over, but once it gets going it pays off and is as entertaining as any sci-fi of the period. It has a lot of similar themes--particularly that of a sudden incredible power that has a terrible cost. The soundtrack is jarringly out of place.

Absolutely not a must, but save the incredibly corny ending and the film is somewhat enjoyable in its vulgar being.

This probably has nostalgic value for some folks, but I was mostly bored. It doesn't get interesting until 45 minutes into the film. The wacky jazzy musical score is out of place, and the character of Tony Nelson is an annoying douche. Robert Lansing portrays Scott Nelson, the eventual antagonist, and does a decent job. I had high hopes for this, and it's not exactly a failure, but I wasn't too thrilled.
