A thriller that fails to thrill or even distinctly interest the viewer. Not only that, but there are lots of annoying details in it too, like something-terrible-just-happened-and-we-should-feel-sad background music that never stops, or plot-holes unbelievable characters, and for the finale a twist, that was clear right from the set up. Acting of Daniel Auteuil was good, but not good enough to make this film anything more than a waste of time.

Great french cop-movie. Its enjoyable for many aspects. Lower score comes for the camerawork and some nonsense in plot.

impressive intensity, one which the cast heartily conveys, however it reaches a point where it's all so grim, so hopeless and bleak, that you know it can basically only get worse and despite remaining moderately entertaining it does become predictable. It never gets so dark and melodramatic as to break, as some movies which overdo the heaviness snap into being macabre comedies, but it does end up feeling somewhat empty and mildly forgettable despite a very strong, original first act

Surprisingly gritty, dark and real.

"A good cop thriller, but more for its insight into corruption than its cinematic thrills."
