24X36: A Movie About Movie Posters

The curse of crowdfunding! What should have been a celebration and exploration of all the great movie posters and artists of the past becomes a marketing tool for modern retro/mondo poster makers who probable payed through Kickstarter to get their 5 minutes of promoting themselves. There was barely a in-depth interview with anyone from the real days of poster design. A major disappointment. The old school deserved much better than just being name-dropped by the fan boy poster makers of today.

Cool stuff if you really like movies and art.

As a fan of comic book art & art-based movie posters (the film doubles as promotion for the Mondo brand which tends to specialize in genre films) this was an easy & interesting watch for me that also told me a few things I didn't know. Presumably only someone with an interest in such things would even watch, but anyone wanting to know more about pre-80s posters is likely to be disappointed & anyone who doesnt think much of posters either way will think this is making mountains out of mole hills

Decent. Feels a bit rushed though.
