This reminded me of a typical 80's sex comedy. Not the good kind...the throw away kind, like Private Resort or H.O.T.S. The gratuitous breasts shot of the terrified girl running from the buffalo had me rolling though.

21 and Over tries to straddle the offensive-comedy line, but fails to be funny. Every college antic has been done better before in other movies. The chemistry isn't great between the leads, and the production is woeful with montages and obvious ADR. A party soundtrack shouldn't be the low bar to set the tone of the film to. A point for Hodgkinson's The Chief, and his appearance at the end that made be relent a smile.

O hai Project X. Well, it certainly doesn't bury the lead, as the opening scene is a walk of shame. I hate to give this flick credit but the soundtrack is pretty good. Fuck this movie's dialogue STRAIGHT to Hell... okay well maybe it's a little okay here and there. But the one dude is a twelve year old Danny McBride. Let's face it, this is a low-rent "Hangover" clone without Zach-G's likeability and even when it tries to be serious or emotional, it fails terribly. Nothing in this movie matters.

An incredibly dark Hangover ripoff that is thematically true, if not really funny or clever. Also, it's mega racist!

It's funny often enough to almost get over how by the numbers its story is. Almost.

This is one of those movies that isn't particularly good by any means, it's even kinda racist, but I was mildly interested in it to see it till the end. It may be because I relate to dumb college kids because I am one, but the movie was consistently going and it didn't really slow down. It's probably the best thing it has going for it because the film is so formulaic and I knew how it would end 3 minutes in, but I'm also a big Miles Teller guy and he is kinda the reason I watched this.

Could be the college-prequel to The Hangover. And like The Hangover, it overcomes a trite story with some charming leads. While it has some good laughs, it's burdened by more failed attempts at comedy than successful ones. Still, not a bad Friday night flick.

Hangover clone like Project X but with none of the visceral appeal of the latter's faux realism.
A tame affair that i probably wouldn't have enjoyed any more if i was closer to the age of the protagonists.

Of the two Miles-Teller-as-drunk-fuckup movies of 2013, this is clearly the worse.

21 & Over is an obscenely raunchy, rude and revolting sibling of The Hangover flicks. It's a gratuitously grotty pic that lauds the ethos of living insanely while you're young and showcases naked guys with festering brands on their backsides, dressed in nothing but socks. (pluggedin.com)

You can't really appreciate how basically decent and good-natured a film like Superbad is until you have to sit through something as utterly contemptible and awful as this.

There is a certain thread of meanness that runs through The Hangover, and that's completely absent in this movie. The main characters are nice people just out for a good time; nobody's doing it to hurt someone else, or to get away with something, or to behave in a way that needs Las Vegas or someone's wedding as an excuse. This niceness gives the film an overall pleasant tone that makes it much easier to find teddy bears glued to privates or navel-shots taken from the tummies of fat guys fu

Not a classic college comedy by any means, but not horrendous either. Formulaic, characters aren't quite there for me, but passes an hour and a half in a decent enough way.
Also, wee splash of Frabbit on the soundtrack made me smile

Disarmingly not sucky. Put it another way: I rented this one night, watched it while I was drinking, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It's a movie populated by people who almost seem to be saying to themselves "whoa, it's like I'm in a Todd Phillips and/or Vince Vaughn flick! Cool! Let's make the best of this situation! Let's act as insane as we possibly can and just go with it!" It reminded me a little of GO, actually. No classic, but I dug it better than all three HANGOVER flicks.

The Hangover set in college. Apparently Jon Lucas and Scott Moore only know how to write movies about getting drunk and causing trouble and that was basically the entire plot of this movie. There were a few funny parts but this movie is very forgettable. Justin Chon was a really funny drunk as his friends drag him about the film like he was in Weekend at Bernie's. The plot was probably the worst as the whole point was trying to find Chon's address so he could get some sleep for an interview.

It barely works neither as a buddy film -- the nostalgic feel about old friends that happen to come back to our lives seems just too phony -- nor as a raunchy, softcore porn, Hangover-like overnight report about college dudes before the most important day in the life of one of them. Oh, the homeless chief -- actually a college teacher who dances in front of his house too high on LSD -- is great, though.

It's not big and it's not clever, but I chuckled a surprising amount, and my minimal expectations were easily surpassed. A 70 for being actually kinda funny - I laughed more at this than, say, Hangover Part 2, which I even kinda liked - and a few bonus points for being home to the first big-screen usage of a Gaslight Anthem song I'm aware of.

Not bad, just blegh. It has some laughs, but in the end, this movie's entertainment value barely makes up for its runtime. It didn't waste my time, but I wasn't exactly glad I watched it either.

It basically gets the minimally ambitious job it sets out to do (i.e. being a college-set Hangover movie that's about the night itself rather than the morning after) done. I laughed a few times. I can't imagine the college dudebro crowd it's aiming for being disappointed. But it's certainly not clever either, and, as dumb as it feels to critique the narrative logic of this kind of movie, there actually are a couple sort of gaping plot holes in the "finding Jeff Chang's address" story.

John Lucas and Scott Moore are good writers. John Lucas and Scott Moore are not good directors. This is basically exactly what you'd expect. 75% of the laughs are in the trailer. The secondary antagonist is one of the worst characters in recent movie history. However the script is flows and the main characters work well against each other. Justin Chon should get nominated for an oscar.

21 and Over is pretty much the exact type of movie that you expect it to be. If you think The Hangover is funny, you'll probably find this movie hilarious as well. It has issues with its characters, dialogue and situations, but if you find it funny you probably won't notice. I didn't like 21 and Over, but if it sounds like your type of thing, you'll probably get some enjoyment out of it. And, to be honest, it's at least better than The Hangover.
