It really bothered me that no matter how slow/fast he walked/ran to the park, he always got there at the exact same time.

The basis for Groundhog Day, with more science fiction and less comedy. Although it's more serious, the conclusion doesn't feel as final as Groundhog Day. However, they both have their strengths.

Smith is no Murray, but he's great in his own way. Not to be missed !!!

An adult SF version of the same short story as used for basics of Groundhog Day. Where the full feature fails to try to be funny and entertaining, this is solid gold, serious and straight to the point. Very strong lead acted by Kurtwood Smith.

A great, dark short film about a man living in a time bump where the same hour is repeated over and over again. Nice lead role by Kurtwood Smith.

This is actually a pretty good time-travel flick, in the looping "Groundhog Day" kind of way, but played as straight sci-fi with some comedic elements, as opposed to a comedy with sci-fi elements. I'm not a Jonathan Silverman fan by any means of the imagination, but he's actually a fairly good casting decision, along with everyone else. Worth a watch.

Interesting because it preces Groundhog Day, but it pales in comparison to that movie

Kurtwood Smith is living the same hour over and over again. He contacts a physicist who seems to know about the phenomena to try and exit the loop. May sound very familiar, but it was made 3 years before "Groundhog's Day".

Shorter than the X-files episode and a lot shorter than Groundhog Day but pretty much does all the interesting things with the idea. Snappy, well-made and to the point.

Guy gets into an hour long time loop and completely fails to do anything interesting with it.

Interesting short movie with a very entertaining idea, it has a kind of explanation to the phenomenon witch is nice because it makes it more believable.

Given the visual style, music and tone, and that this was filmed in 1990, this really feels like an early episode of the revived Outer Limits TV Series that ran from 1995 to 2002. In fact, put a cheesy narrator over the beginning and end, edit out some of the swear words, and that's essentially it. So, as an episode of Twilight Zone or some other sci-fi anthology it would be pretty great, but as a movie - really just sort of average. I also don't get why it ranks so high.

Well, not quite nearly as good as Ground Hog Day and definitely not as uplifting but had some redeeming value. Is this the predecessor to "Ground Hog Day"?

I thought it was great. Pretty dark and compelling, and the acting was good. I'm not comparing it to Groundhog Day, cause this one is quite different in a way

Don't get the Tier 10 love this. Not bad or anything, but it shouldn't be in your top 10% of all movies

I think the summary sums it up (AS SUMMARIES OFTEN DO). A more serious "Groundhog Day." I think the ending pretty much nails the hopelessness that the main character feels, and because of that it's really powerful.

It kind of flames out toward the end, but I really liked this short, and thought Kurtwood Smith gave a top notch performance.

Never thought you could get so much movie in just 25 minutes. The story isn't necessarily original, but the idea of a time-loop is portrayed so well by Kurtwood Smith that it feels genuine and truly compelling. Comparison with Groundhog Day, another good movie, doesn't do it justice. The basic idea may be the same, but the pace and execution are very different.

Rather bland and generic, like something you might catch on television at.. umm.. 12:01 PM. Groundhog Day is no masterpiece, but it took the basic idea and attached a great script and characterization. Plus Bill Murray instead of some uninteresting bald man.

Feels very Twilight Zone-ish. The serious tone and lack of resolution make the whole experience pretty nightmarish.

Pretty good short film that would go on to inspire a number of bigger movies (or in other words, the filmmakers and writers who made and inspired this film had their idea stolen...over and over again, as if in some kind of time loop).

A brilliant short film about a man who seems to be the only one to realize his life is on an infinite loop. It obviously inspired Groundhog Day. Not to be confused with the 1993 TV film.
